Gratitude being such a powerful emotion, it can have a really positive effect on our mind and body. Gratitude is truly life-changing.

When you think about it there is so much to be grateful for. The things that we take for granted, is someone else’s wish or dream.

By practicing gratitude daily you can allow yourself to enjoy activities that you may take for granted, as well as making us understand why we love those things we have in our lives.

Ways to Practice Gratitude

Here are 9 wonderful ways to add more gratitude to your day:

#1. Start a Gratitude Journal

With gratitude journaling, all it takes is to write down 3 things that you are grateful for in a journal every day.

#2. Keep a Gratitude Jar

A gratitude jar should be filled with the things that you are grateful for. Those things should be written on pieces of paper and to be put in a jar.

It will make you feel good when you reflect back on what you have put into your gratitude jar in a year’s time, or when you need to be reminded that there are good things in your life.

#3. Use social media for the good things in your life

If there is a special person in your life, then post a photo of them along with a message telling them they make your life special. It doesn’t have to be a person, it can be anything that you are grateful for. For example one of your favourite products.

#4. Give Thanks at Mealtime

Before eating your meal, it is good to be thankful for each person who has made your meal. From the farmer to the person who cooked your meal.

#5. Write Thank You Letters or Cards

There is nothing like a handwritten letter. Write letters or cards to the people who have affected your life in a positive way and have made a difference. This will not just brighten that person’s day it will make you feel good too.

#6. Appreciate the small actions that people do

Does someone you know do nice things for you? It is nice to be appreciated for small actions.

#7. Contact that person who has influenced you

Get in contact with someone who has impressed you. For example, the book that you really enjoyed reading and has made a difference in your life, or it could be your favourite chef who has inspired you to get into healthy cooking. This can be done via social media or on their website.

#8. Writing a kind and honest review can go a long way

Imagine how a company would appreciate it if you wrote a kind and honest product review on their website or on their Facebook page. If you find a product that is useful and reliable or you just really like a product. Companies really appreciate hearing from their customers.

#9. Share grateful things with friends and family

Instead of saying negative things such as what you are not happy with, say the things for which you are grateful. Even get your friends and family to do this too.
